Several years ago our D&D group here at Beadle & Grimm's started the Isle of Dread campaign. The adventure began with an ocean voyage into the uncharted south seas in search of a mysterious island full of treasure surrounded by mythical sea monsters.
This month I've felt a little like I'm back in that campaign, except I'm not a 5th level wizard with a Cloak of Teleportation (although the GPS tracking of ships going across the Pacific is about as close to magic as it gets).
As a company, we have more things shipping and flying around the world than we've ever had before, and it's a little overwhelming to try and keep track of everything as it sails and soars to their global destinations. Never have I longed for unlimited castings of Teleportation Circle as I have this month.
But we're excited to share our progress and update you on where your favorite products are:
- The Legendary Edition of Curse of Strahd finally received their finger puppets and safely made the dangerous journey from Canada to New Jersey. They are back in stock now and available for purchase!
- Our GM and Player Journals, which sold faster than we expected and have been out of stock for a few months, just sailed into Los Angeles and will be available in the store again on July 1st!
- Our Ring of Chaos board game, both the base game and the Platinum Edition, are getting packed up at the factory in China and have an express shipping containers waiting for them (I imagine it having racing stripes, but I think that's just wishful thinking) to sail them to warehouses all around the world! They should arrive in July in the US (and in the UK, EU, AUS and APAC at around the same time) and the only question is how quickly we can turn around and ship them out to our Kickstarter backers!
- Our upcoming unannounced Magic: The Gathering product is complete and expected to fly directly to the US and AUS next week to make sure they're available in stores and on our website for their upcoming launch.
- Finally, tens of thousands of custom-painted WizKids minis are currently on a large ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, on their way to join the rest of the elements in our Platinum Edition of Vecna: Eve of Ruin. I can only imagine how tempting it must be for the crew to break them out and stage epic battles all across the deck!
In the Isle of Dread campaign, our ship was destroyed by a Kraken in sight of shore and we swam ashore with nothing but the clothes on our back (luckily including that magic cloak). We won't make the same mistake again.
