A recent customer review:
"I love quality and B&G products are of the highest quality. I love things that are unique. You cannot find many of the things B&G makes anywhere else. I love well thought out products. B&G knows their market and make products that really hit the mark.
The Classic Module dice collection is no different.
The outer box with it's dragon scale detail is both functional and chic. The coins and cards that come with the dice sets are of high quality and very unique. The dice themselves have a good weight and feel to them along with being eye catching.
Another great product I can highly recommend whether you are looking for one set or the whole collection."

The Box, The Price, and The Crit Symbol (The Good, The Bad, The Ugly)

[DISCLAIMER: product received at a significantly reduced cost due to a promotional code]
My goal with leaving this review is to give earnest feedback on these sets as I absolutely LOVE the idea of them but I feel several areas missed the mark for me. First, let's start with the good. I purchased the Tomb of Horrors (ToH) box and the felt-lined box that looks like a book is so, so cool! I absolutely love how it looks and how it functions as a dice tray. Absolutely awesome! The oversized coin as well? Very cool! I like it; it is a bit weighty for regular table use but it's a neat token.
Next, 'the bad': the price. I believe when I made my purchase these sets were listed for $50. I am gladdened to see them now reduced to $30. $50 was positively preposterous for these sets. These are clearly collectibles, and, as I said, the box is awesome to behold! Still, $30 is far fairer a price than what was asked for when these sets first started out. One potential way I see to cut costs for future similar sets is to discard the cards. The collectible cards in the set had little value to me. I hate writing something like that, as I can understand the effort that went into them, but it still stands that the cards had absolutely no impact on my opinion of the set. The information on them felt superficial, and widely known. The artwork wasn't new or novel, either. I don't feel the need or perceived value for them to be included.
Now for what I have dubbed 'the ugly': the crit (20) symbol on the oversized D20. If you asked me what it was and I had no idea what ToH was... I would think it was a gargoyle? Maybe? A gargoyle with a large splotch of yellow paint where the mouth should be. It looks... well, ugly. I've been a big fan of intricately-designed dice for years now and this crit symbol is really lacking. The other dice (and sides of the oversized D20) are excellently crafted; the numbers are bright and defined. The D20, however... really got me. I genuinely don't want to roll a 20 with it because it looks like there's an odd, oblong yellow triangle where the 20 should be. It is prohibitively expensive to purchase these sets at full price with something akin to a smudge as the centerpiece.
Now, admittedly, I want more of these. As I said, I LOVE the idea (and I'm happy they've seen a reduction in price), but these would be absolutely EPIC items if more attention was placed on the dice, themselves. An easily-identifiable critical hit symbol is essential to sets like these in my opinion. Again, I do quite like the box, and the coin is a good token, but if I am purchasing a "dice set" my main focus is always on the quality (and art) of the dice. I absolutely love the ideas Beadle & Grimm's puts out and I will of course continue to support this awesome company, but this dice set really disappointed me.

Glad you loved the felt-lined box and coin! Understand if the art cards aren't your cup of tea, and we're bummed you didn't like that Tomb of Horrors demon head image for the 20 on the oversized d20. Thanks for the shout out about supporting us as a company, even if this set didn't hit home for you! We really appreciate it.

Great quality and fantastic design that is well worth the price

Dice are remarkable quality and look excellent. The package design is awesome and it doubling as a dice tray is great, however I likely wont use it in that manner to avoid any damaging of the beautiful design of the felt lining. The artwork and description cards are fantastic and I love that they came with protecting sleeves as well. The coin is also really cool. The only negative I would say is that the part meant to hold the coin does feel like it's not strong enough to support the weight of the coin.

It arrived a day early with the other item I ordered. It arrived bubble wrapped and in great condition. It is a wonderful addition to my growing Dungeons and Dragons collection and will be perfect for running Curse of Strahd.
