When I ordered this, I thought it would be a box of cheese.
In a way, I was right; I love cheese and I love this box!
The coins are actually metal! They clink and have weight! Strahd on one side and his family crest on the other, I use them as a physical prop and to help keep the map flat, the players were wowed!
The holy symbol of ravenkind is also metal and has heft to it. I can’t wait for the players to find it.
The real star for me is the little Strahd finger puppet. I always do a recap, and I use him (or is he using me?) to recap, the players LOVED IT. His personality is a little bit Strahd, a little bit Crypt Keeper, and a little bit masterpiece theater host. The miss here was that the tag doesn’t say “is no fun, is no blinsky.)
My one complaint is that I thought it included a wax stamp of Strahd’s family crest, like for heating wax and then stamping. Instead, it includes wax stickers of his crest for sealing envelopes etc… That was a misread on my part, so it doesn’t lower the rating for me. They are still very cool, and there’s enough to seal several messages to taunt you players with.
Overall, I rate this five stars for the quality of the items, and the wow factor at the table.
